Shop shelving comes with many different options, below is a short guide to some of the key choices;
- How high? Shelving uprights are available in a variety of height from 1000mm up to 3000mm. The most popular heights are 1400mm for the central “gondola” bays and 2200mm for use a wall bays.
- How Wide? The most cost effective bay widths are 1000mm and 1250mm. Other bay widths available are 665mm and 800mm but the components are more expensive as they are not produced in such high numbers.
- Which backpanels? Plain or perforated panels are the two main types available. Hooks can be used with the perforated panels. Other options include special effect panels such as brushed steel or metal slatwall panels.
- Shelves? Shelves are available from 770mm right down to 200mm deep. The most popular sizes are 300mm, 3790mm, 470mm and 570mm deep. The shelves are often staggered to give a “Christmas Tree” effect and to aid self selection.
